Dressing For A Winter Wonderland
This week saw the launch of several holiday – or holiday-appropriate – collections that are pulling at my heart and pursestrings with equal force. I’m hoping you’ll save me from myself and sell all of these out so I can stop lusting after them.
Reformation collaborated with Camille Rowe to launch a capsule collection made by an It Girl, for It Girls. Whatever “It” is (capital I), I want. The silhouettes are vintage-inspired, sleek, and flirty – some veering on a 90s Prada energy. I’ve collected the highlights for you, including: the platonic ideal of white denim, a pair of low rise black pinstripe pants that can go from day to date night if you layer wisely, this sequin gown that needs to get on my body for New Year’s Eve, and a mini dress that leaves just a sliver to the imagination – for those who dare.
As if it weren’t enough for Reformation to drop a very tempting collection, Ciao Lucia decided to introduce its holiday capsule this week, too. Where Reformation gives sexy and party, Ciao goes classic and timeless – on vacation somewhere in Europe, surely. There’s plenty of amazing velvet (with bow details); tweed midis fit for a modern Jackie O; and flouncy nautical numbers for your November escape to a balmy seaside town.
I’m freezing my cards and can’t be trusted this week!
Our Place And Diaspora Co. Celebrate Diwali
This week, Our Place and Diaspora Co. teamed up to launch The Diwali Collection, the latest in Our Place’s Traditionware series. Featuring a Golden Fry Set ($60) and new Turmeric colorway, the collection includes a beautifully perforated Skimmer Spoon designed by Lekha founder Trishala Bhansali, a wire Cooling Rack designed by artist Manjit Thapp, two Clay Diyas made in India, and Diaspora Co.’s Grade A saffron from Pampore, Kashmir. Add to cart and prepare to enjoy samosas and marigolds in spades.
Lighting For Your Autumnal Oasis
Gantri just launched its Fall collection, composed of independently designed (and, as always, 3D-printed) lights with the potential to bring a new degree of hygge to your home this season. The lights in this particular collection evoke a warm Fall glow – one that adds a new dimension and softness to your space, even when the weather gets cold and dark. From bedside lamps that encourage hours spent reading to sweet, rounded shapes that spark conversation, play, and relaxation, these new lights are joy-inducing. Let the light in, and bid adieu to your winter blues.
Posh Spice: Fly By Jing Elevates Your Kitchen, Again
Jing Gao has been infiltrating our kitchens for years now, but her fire’s not cooling off anytime soon. Fly By Jing’s new launch is inspired by Gao’s recent return to her birth city of Chengdu, where she was reminded of how much more Sichuan flavor she wants to bring to the U.S. On her new Chengdu Crunch ($17), Gao says: “Coming home made me want to know how we could evolve and show MORE – more crunch, more crisp, more flavor, more texture, more umami, more depth. It really captures the essence of Chengdu in all of the layers of goodness in every single bite.”
I, for one, am sold. Formulated with fava beans, yellow split peas, soybeans, pumpkin seeds, sesame, and sunflower seeds, it’s a Goldilocks sensation: just the right mix of spice, sweet, salty, crunch, and, of course, umami.
Oh, you thought FBJ would only launch one game-changer this week? Think again. The brand reprised its fan-favorite Tingly Sichuan Salt ($15) with Jacobsen Salt. Co on Wednesday, featuring FBJ’s handpicked Sichuan Tribute Peppers and Jacobsen’s Kosher Sea Salt. Just as delicious on a soft-boiled egg or in a dry rub as it is along the rim of your spicy margarita.
Before You Go…
Launches for new moms, my toddler demographic, and pumpkin spice kombucha (kind of).
Lovevery recently introduced The Course Packs, a complete set of digital and physical parenting tools for moving through big transitions and building confidence. Play with bite-sized video content, children’s books, toys and sing-alongs, and a guide just for parents to bring some expert advice to the natural oscillations of raising a little human being.
Breastfeeding? momjug might be your new best friend. Inspired by a mom’s own chaotic fourth trimester experience, momjug is designed to help breastfeeding and pumping moms stay hydrated. Seize a modicum of control with a bottle that’s easy to grab, carry, and use – all while holding your baby.
Deux launched Cinnamon Sugar Donuts ($16) in collaboration with Chamberlain Coffee last week. Not only do they look legitimately awesome, but rumor has it (firsthand, from one of our editors) these are “even better” than expected.
Before I start to hear those sleigh bells jingling…I crack open a Health Ade Holiday Cheers kombucha. The festive flavor is back, marking the official beginning of the holiday season (in my calendar). Ginger. Vanilla. Allspice. CACAO. Yes, in a kombucha. Cheers.
