Choose Your Fighter: Collab Smoothie Edition
Actually, why choose when you can just enjoy both? I can’t pick a favorite child, especially when it comes to Vacation and OSEA, two of my most beloved beach bag essentials. And luckily, I don’t have to!
It’s the year of the branded smoothie (celebrities are brands, if you weren’t already aware, and Hailey Bieber’s Strawberry Glaze situation was just the beginning). When I first saw the Vacation “Sunscreen” Smoothie at my neighborhood Erewhon, I thought I was being pranked – mostly because it looks like sunscreen, a notoriously non-edible substance. Instead, this collab is not only safe for human consumption, but also leans more milkshake than SPF: five organic coconut-based ingredients, from soft serve to whipped cream, mix with banana, blue spirulina, vanilla, aloe, and a dash of sea salt for a sweet treat that’s as nostalgic as Vacation’s aesthetic.
At another LA health nut institution, OSEA is making its mark. SunLife Organics has just introduced the Sea Glow Smoothie, an ocean-inspired superfood symphony designed to help you glow from the inside out. Crafted from skin-loving ingredients like aloe, spirulina, coconut, and spinach, and made more delicious and nutrient-dense with hydrating fruits like mango, passion fruit, and pineapple, it’s the perfect post-beach treat. (Need I remind you there are not one but two SunLife locations in Malibu?)
Solid Food News
When you’re done drinking the first two launches, let’s circle up in your kitchen. There’s plenty to discuss. Brightland brought back its best-selling Pizza Oil this week. And if it seems like I’m using the term best-selling as a meaningless superlative, said Oil has amassed a waitlist of over 10,000 eager consumers, all dying to get a generous drizzle of California olives freshly crushed with cayenne pepper, jalapeño, basil, garlic, and rosemary.
If you like your olive oil more old school (and Italian), Partanna’s offering 15% off from the 10th through the 16th with code FATHERSDAY15. While we’re on the topic of Father’s Day, Jacobsen Salt Co. is relaunching some timely favorites, like their Grilling Trio, Dill Pickle Salt, and Uncle Nearest Whiskey Salt.
Pop & Bottle recently launched Multi-Serve Cold Brews in Light Roast, Medium Roast, and Vanilla flavors to keep you cool all summer long (and help you kick your coffee shop addiction). And if you’re still in cozy home fragrance season, shop the brand’s collaboration with Moodcast: a Vanilla Oat Milk Candle that smells exactly as basic as it sounds (in a good, cookies-baking-in-the-oven, way).
Might I interest you in a soft launch for your gut health? It’s not a beverage, I promise (and there are no lawsuits involved). Quite Nice’s Breakfast Oats, propelled by the magic – or rather, science – of resistant starches and low-FODMAP ingredients are vying for the title of your new best breakfast option in a sea of microbiome-friendly kitchen additions. They’re also free of glyphosate, fake sweeteners, refined sugars, gluten, and nuts. Be an early adopter.
Two new things of note in my personal kitchen:
First: KOATJI, the sexy new plant milk I discovered at my favorite Scandinavian bakery in Santa Barbara (forgive me for that sentence). It’s made from oats enriched with koji, a slow-fermented rice which happens to be a natural probiotic and rich with B vitamins. No gums, preservatives, sweeteners, fillers, or nuts.
Second: Moon Juice collaborated with Organic Oren on what is essentially my new favorite art object and my most expensive addiction: the combination of Moon Juice’s Silver Strawberry and a gluten and dairy-free Mochi Brownie spiked with MJ’s Sex Dust. If you understood that sentence you either live in Los Angeles or you are my friend or, I hope, both! It’ll be available just for the month of June, but I’m sending prayers and psychic pleas for these to magically appear at Moon Juice shops permanently. (And while I’m at it, can we get the Mulberry Cacao Hazelnuts back, too?)

For Your Summer Style & Beauty Consideration
Every week brings with it a new opportunity to refresh your skin and your style. This week, Augustinus Bader launched The Skin Infusion, a four-week intensive for your complexion designed to restore, renew, and strengthen your skin during “critical periods” – which, according to AB, includes seasonal changes, jet lag, and harsh climates. It’s also priced to reflect this level of crisis. At $430, it’s giving: I’ll pay (and, if presented the opportunity, barter) anything to fix my skin.
EADEM is redefining the often narrow and exclusive ideal of “French beauty” with the launch of Le Chouchou, a restorative lip treatment that combines a lip peel, mask, and gloss all in one. Born in west Africa and raised in France, the brand’s co-founder Marie Kouadio Amouzame emphasizes the true meaning of French beauty with this launch: a simple, effortless look, focused on enhancing rather than masking natural beauty. The campaign, shot in Paris featuring a cast that actually reflects the diversity of French beauty today, shows off the sumptuous street food-inspired shades, from Butter Mochi to Fig Sauce.
Crown Affair partnered with MZ Wallace to create the perfect travel-ready hair care set: a beautiful quilted toiletry bag complete with Crown Affair’s (game-changing) Shampoo & Conditioner, Scrunchies, and Comb. Wherever you go, there you (and your ritual) are.
Flore Flore branched into button-downs this week with a five-piece capsule that reflects the brand’s thematic commitment to structure and shape, from oversized breezy numbers to slim-fitted pieces that’ll layer nicely under your sweater come Fall. Feels criminal for me not to purchase the Zoë, right?
For those who lean more prairie than Prada (though the two are certainly not mutually exclusive), shop Christy Dawn’s newest Pre-Summer collection. You’re guaranteed to find a daily driver for frolicking in a field of flowers.
Happy shopping. Email me directly – zoe@thequalityedit.com – with any launches you’d like to see in the spotlight, or DM us over @thequalityedit.
