The Fondle Project Puts The Power In Your Own Hands – Literally
Gina Lamanna – stylist, entrepreneur, mother of two girls, and breast cancer survivor – is a force to be reckoned with. After finding a lump in her breast at age 41, despite two false-negative mammograms and a misdiagnosis, Lamanna still knew something wasn’t right. It was her own intuition and early self-detection that saved her life – and that motivated her to found The Fondle Project, which just launched yesterday. The project is dedicated to changing the narrative around breast cancer, opening a dialogue that normalizes self examination and education, encourages preventative breast health, and promotes greater inclusivity and body positivity.
The Project is partnering with seven female-founded brands – Fleur du Mal, Jacquie Aiche, Goldie Tees, Parrish LA, Sticky Be Socks, Smythe, and XiRENA – to raise funds for breast cancer research and advocacy. 10% of sales from featured items will go directly towards partnering charities for this entire month. Get to shopping – and self-examining.
Is It Summer Yet?
Dress for the season you want, not the season you have. While we’re still waiting for some proper summer sun here in Los Angeles, it’s never a bad time to refresh your sunglass collection. I’ve got not one but two ideal launches for you this week.
Thistle Brown, Maryam Nassir Zadeh’s creative partner and visionary behind the brand’s menswear line, just launched his own independent project: Thistles, an eyewear label with just one silhouette available in four colorways. The AL ($249) is distinctly chic in a spare, 90s-but-futuristic-but-also-60s sense, and is making its mark vis-a-vis some distinctly chic faces, from Dev Hynes to Annabelle Dexter-Jones. It doesn’t hurt that the creative is distinctly sexy. I, too, wear my sunglasses in the bath.
Linda Farrow is having a rare online sample sale, and you’d be wise to snap up your favorite pair while it’s $200, instead of $600. You’re not spending money, you’re saving! Trust me, I’m a mathematician.
Lovevery Bestows Your Four-Year-Old With The Skills Of A Future World Leader, from $120
Lovevery just launched a series of new playkits, designed to set children up for success by building essential life and executive function skills, like flexible thinking, critical thinking, frustration tolerance, and planning. Engineered for four-year-olds, The Play Kits are delivered every three months as your little one grows, and each targets a different skill: The Connecter, The Examiner, The Persister, and The Planner. Trick your child into learning while they play – a gift for the whole family.
Your Summer Wardrobe, Settled – From Cashmere To Corsets
This week saw the launch of quite a few capsule collections from it-girl brands like Miao, With Jean, Gemsun, and House Of Sunny. Whether your summer aesthetic is yearning for a Miaou corset ($245), With Jean mini ($199), Gemsun modern-princess dress ($250), or House Of Sunny resort wear ($97), consider it covered. (Gemsun’s collection is stealing the show for me, cards on the table.)
A bonus? TQE-favorite and Gigi Hadid-helmed Guest In Residence is having a killer sale. Snag your new go-to cashmere set for cool mornings by the water or campfire hangs before it all sells out (read: ASAP).
And A Few More Things…
Girlfriend Collective brought back its Citrine colorway after 17,000 of the brand’s followers demanded its return. It’s mesmerizing, it’s sporty, it’s giving gold – grab your favorite style while it’s back. Adaptogen-boosted, better-for-you cookie dough brand Deux can’t stop selling out of its limited-edition Donut Holes, and they’ve got a few of the new Chocolate Deuxnuts left on site. Do not hesitate, add-to-cart. Lastly, there’s a new beverage on the block, and it’s absolutely delicious. Something & Nothing just launched a few 4% ABV canned spritzes, ideal for picnics and late afternoon sipping. With flavors like Yuzu and Saké, Sauvignon Blanc and Cucumber, and French Rose and Hibiscus, you might just have to order the whole damn taster pack.
