Pop-Up Mania
In the spirit of romantic February unions, peruse some delightful collaborations this week – best experienced in person. From now through February 19, Ghia is partnering with LA ice cream mastermind Awan on custom pints and scoops featuring the indulgent Ghianduja spread and Berry Aperitif. Known for its flavor-rich and high-quality vegan ice creams, Awan is to dessert as Ghia is to your bar cart. It’s a match made in heaven, with some divinely-inspired flavors: Ghianduja Stracciatella, Coffee Ghianduja made with Dayglow coffee, Hazelnut Ghia Grunch, and a Ghia Berry dotted with raspberry chips. Stop by for a scoop, or be a hero this V-Day and order a bundle for pick-up complete with four pints, a bottle of Berry, and a jar of Ghianduja Crunch ($140).
Over on the opposite coast, filtered showerhead brand Jolie has established temporary residence in SoHo. From now through Valentine’s Day, visit the Jolie Love Shack, where you’ll leave with more than just your new favorite showerhead. Think: complimentary bouquets, elixirs from Gem Wine’s Flynn McGarry, and chef-crafted donuts from Wildair’s Fabián von Hauske. Maybe you’ll meet your Valentine. Anything is possible; it’s February, after all!
Things To Sip On
Another week, another slew of beverages. Science-backed hydration and a brand new product from a legacy kombucha brand make this week even more exciting (and effervescent) than usual.
Moon Juice debuted its uber-hydrating, two-in-one electrolyte and multimineral Mini Dew this past August, packed with ionic trace minerals for steady energy and chelated essential minerals to enhance cognitive function. If you thought Moon Juice would stop at just one flavor, you’d be underestimating Amanda Chantal Bacon! (A fatal error.) This week, meet Mini Dew Pomelo ($44), a subtly sweet flavor with hints of bright citrus and grapefruit. Cheers to delicious hydration.
Health-Ade Kombucha launched SunSip, swimming with the tide of the prebiotic soda craze. If it feels like the brand is a little late to the Olipop and Poppi party, consider this: they were just fine-tuning the formula, and the proof is in the Sip. Filled with B-vitamins, Zinc, Selenium, and prebiotics from agave inulin fiber, Health-Ade’s SunSip is my new favorite contender in the “healthy soda” game. And yes, I’ve tried them all.
Would it be the week before Valentine’s Day if we didn’t have a V-Day-specific beverage launch? Clevr has us covered. The superfood latte brand launched a limited-edition Rose Dust ($11), made from low-glycemic coconut sugar, Indonesian vanilla, and crushed rose petals, guaranteed to bring a little more joy to the surface of your favorite Rose Cocoa latte. Code TQE 15 will score you 15% off sitewide through the end of March.
Pretty Things To Incentivize Going On Dates
While I’m currently receiving flash flood notifications in Los Angeles, Ciao Lucia and Doen are in sunnier states of mind, and have officially launched their Spring 2024 collections. I’m dreaming of warmer climes in prairie dresses ($365), and browser-shopping cashmere crop cardigans ($298) I’d like to be wearing in Big Sur.
Reformation’s Love collection capitalizes on what we all know and adore about the brand: it exists as an answer to the age-old question, “what do I wear on my hot date”? Consider a soft, ballet pink cashmere ($198) for a coffee or breakfast; a deep red dramatic number ($198) for a far-too-expensive prix fixe on February 14.
Small LA-based label Charlie Beads just released a limited amount of its new Bias Skirts ($118), made for the elusive 90s cool girl who always looks simultaneously ultra-chic and ultra-effortless. Scientists have yet to solidify this equation, but Charlie Hourston has it figured out. The Black Dot and Red are begging to be the focal point of your February uniform.
This brand is making cashmere headbands, which feels like critical information at the intersection of romantic gifting and cold weather season. Tower 28 launched new tinted LipSofties ($16), ultra-hydrating, flavored balms that seem to be engineered for kissing. Do what you will with this information.
Before You Go…
Last week we talked Byredo Beauty; this week, the brand tapped into fine jewelry. Do we need a $21,000 necklace from a brand best known for its fragrance? I’ll leave you to meditate on that philosophical quandary.
YIELD and Headspace collaborated with Poketo on candles, a journal, and a calendar that make the argument: perhaps you can buy happiness. Whether you need a dose of sunshine or an olfactory retreat, your prescription is just a click away.
OSEA launched a new vegan Collagen Dream Night Cream ($68) made with algae-derived bio retinol, clinically proven to reduce the effects of stress on skin during its nightly repair phase.
