Whole Body Wellness – From The Inside Out
Your self-care routine gets a major upgrade this week. WTHN, the company making acupuncture more readily accessible to New Yorkers with (now three) locations across the city, just launched its latest at-home healing tool, rooted in centuries of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The new Body Balance Magnets apply gentle, continuous pressure with Ferrite magnets, tapping into the synergy between acupressure and your body’s own electromagnetic field. Get a little taste of an acupuncture treatment – all day long, no needles necessary. Trust me, I’m an acupuncturist. But because you likely haven’t gone through four years of medical education and clinical practice, the Body Magnets come with an easy-to-use kit, including exclusive digital content that’ll show you how to apply the magnets and integrate them into your routine.
No wellness regimen is complete without some good old-fashioned pampering. After regulating your nervous system with some adhesive magnets, crack open Glossier’s brand new Crème de You, a luxurious body crème that marries the brand’s signature fragrance with skin-caring humectants and luxurious oils to leave your skin silky and scented. Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil carry top notes of pink pepper and Iris heart, grounded by warm base notes of ambrette and ambrox. This gorgeous glass jar is beckoning me to a very cozy – and very moisturized – fall ahead.
Updates For Your Fall – And Marathon-Running – Wardrobe
At this point, it’s safe to assume that each week will bring a new fall collection launch; shop wisely. This week, Filson launched new Men and Women’s collections, made for riding around Montana (or Silverlake) in an old Defender. Not to be missed: well-made wool overshirts and work jackets ready to become timeless wardrobe staples.
M. Gemi might have made the perfect ballet flat – which is saying something, considering I was convinced they had already nailed it with The Danza. Their new Una flat adapts to the more sleek style of the season (at a better price-per-wear than The Row’s iteration) while doubling down on the brand’s signature craft and quality. Made with buttery-soft nappa leather and a flexible sole, the flat is designed to move with your foot, and lined with suede to be extra gentle on the heel (read: no breaking-in blisters). Crossed elastic straps give the shoe a balletic touch. If you love them, lock it down, because these are already selling out.
Kate Glavan and Danish female-founded sportswear label Planet Nusa have teamed up a second time to launch a capsule featuring colorful pieces intended for layering, whether you’re training for your next marathon PR or just off to the farmer’s market. The collection officially launches on Saturday – I’m just giving you advance notice, so you can be first in the digital line.
Melie Bianco’s new vegan leather launches might be just what you’ve been searching for in the “hauling everything to work while still appearing put-together” department. The Lydia and Victoria totes are particularly qualified candidates for the job.
For Sipping And Snacking
Deux collaborated with Rachael DeVaux on a new Salted Peanut Butter Cup cookie dough made with salty, crunchy peanuts and real chocolate chunks. If you’re a Reese’s PB addict, get your fix with 48% less sugar, and reap the benefits of immune-boosting add-ons like Reishi and Vitamin D. Poppi launched a Cherry Cola flavor; here’s hoping they don’t get sued by Coke (too soon for a lawsuit joke?)
Bachan’s launched new Dipping Sauces featuring authentic Japanese ingredients like neri goma (stone-ground sesame), white miso, and suri goma (crushed sesame seeds), made for pairing with everything from steak to spring rolls. Starting out with two flavors – Original and Sweet & Spicy – Bachan’s first category expansion seems destined to be as best-selling as its cult-favorite sauces.
In PSL news: Brekki launched Pumpkin Spice overnight oats, and Compartés condensed your favorite Pumpkin Spiced Latte into a chocolate bar. Cedar’s Foods brought back its limited batch Pumpkin Hommus, which leans more simple than sugar-rush: real organic pumpkin meets tahini, spiced cinnamon, and a touch of maple. I’m sorry if you’re a PSL hater, I’m only doing my job.
Before You Go…
Some sales and compelling new inventions.
Pacagen has invented a spray designed to combat cat allergens, utilizing the power of nanobodies to bind to and neutralize 98% of specific allergens effectively. Safe for you and your very adorable kittens, no allergy shots or medications necessary.
Charli XCX and Skims collaborated on a cotton collection, and there’s (thankfully) no green in sight, just very wearable neutrals. They have made the decision to photoshop her nipples away in the otherwise overtly sexy campaign imagery, which doesn’t feel very Charli or very Skims, but I suppose that’s none of my business.
Have you perused our Labor Day Sales guide yet? Hop over there, and then back here for some of the sales I’m currently being tempted by, including but not limited to: LESET at up to 60% off; Ciao Lucia’s 70% markdowns which I’m sharing with bravery and accepting that I can’t buy everything myself; Vince at 75% off (including some extraordinarily great skirts that I can already imagine pairing well with a knee-high boot for Fall); Glossier for 25% off your favorite concealers and balms and tints oh my; and those Salomon sneakers you’ve been eyeing at 30% off.
Happy shopping. Email me directly – zoe@thequalityedit.com – with any launches you’d like to see in the spotlight, or DM us over @thequalityedit.
