Dusen Dusen Brings The Outside In…to Your Kitchen, from $34
Dusen Dusen, best known for its bright, geometric textiles, debuted a few new additions to its home goods line this week, designed to evoke a sense of en plein air relaxation all year long. After spending more time in upstate New York this summer, founder Ellen Van Dusen found herself inspired by naturally-occurring patterns and shapes. Hence the new collection, which infuses the natural beauty of animals, plants, and wildlife into your kitchen and dining room. See: the Oak Tablecloth ($88), Sail Apron ($48), and Oak Dish Towels ($34). No camping, seafaring, or farming required.
Grow Like A Weed: Wooden Spoon Herbs Makes Your Rapunzel Dreams A Reality, $34
This week, Wooden Spoon Herbs introduced its latest formula: Mane & Nails ($34), which does exactly what its name implies. Formulated with biotin, fo-ti (or He Shou Wu, for those in the Chinese herbal pharmacopeia know), hyaluronic acid, licorice and ginger roots, and bamboo extract, the blend builds the foundation for hair and nails that not only grow like weeds, but have the deep-rooted strength of them, too.
This launch follows on the heels of WSH’s brilliant rebrand earlier this year, which involved an aesthetic overhaul, lowered prices, and the unveiling of its own Magnesium blend. It’s worth noting that, as a result, the brand feels like a more substantial threat to Moon Juice (see: the OG Magnesi-Om) than it did a year ago. Is WSH methodically reproducing many of MJ’s signature capsules and potions? With the launch of Mane & Nails – which I’m perceiving as a cheaper counterpoint to Moon Juice’s SuperHair ($60) – the plot, much like your hair, thickens. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)
Solvasa Marries The Modern And Ancient, And Births Your Incredibly Youthful Complexion, $65
Let’s be frank: there are upwards of five million brands selling gua sha tools in 2023. Not all are created equal, and certainly not all need to exist. Solvasa is the latest to land on my radar, but they’re doing things a little differently. The brand’s Crystal Energy Wand ($65) – don’t roll your eyes just yet – combines vibrational massage with gua sha for basically the most relaxing and potent at-home facial massage situation. It comes with the brand’s skin-brightening Destressance Serum, but plays well with your existing favorite oil or serum, too. Snag this now – the brand is having a clearance sale before it revamps its site, and everything is 70% off. You’re welcome.
Compartés Does Not Make Chocolate –They Make Art, from $9.95
Forgive my dramatic subheading, but once you see Compartés’ latest Summer Series collection, you’ll understand. Featuring four whimsical chocolate bars engineered (in the chocolate laboratory) to transport you to sun-kissed summer nostalgia, the bars are available individually ($9.95) or as a complete set ($49.95), but deciding which flavor to purchase individually is an impossible task. California Garden, featuring fruits and nuts from the best local farmer’s markets; Wild Cherry, infused with organic cherries, three different ways; Caramel Apple, which is exactly what it sounds like; and Date Shake, which combines white chocolate, dates, and vanilla bean in an ode to the iconic Hadley’s Date Shake. No worries if you stopped reading and already ordered in bulk.
Before We Part
A few more last-look launches.
Ettitude launched its newest (sustainable) Linen+ collection this week – just in time to upgrade your summer bedding to a decadent, cooling, hotel-worthy situation. Narra hits the beverage scene with a line of canned oat milk tea lattes, inspired by merienda – the Filipino tradition of taking a midday break to sip, snack, and rejuvenate. Launching with a Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, Black Milk Tea, and Strawberry Matcha, Narra is poised to be your new favorite afternoon treat. Seed & Mill makes its addicting Tahini even easier to access – a dangerous game – with Squeeze Bottles. OLIPOP’s Strawberry Vanilla flavor is featured in the new Barbie World music video, which is a great reminder that this delicious bev exists (and is best enjoyed while looking fabulous in the summer sun).
