Welcome to another edition of Launch Digest, where we bring you the latest and greatest product launches to hit the market across the DTC universe. Temperatures are dropping everywhere, and brands are cozying up to stay warm (a.k.a., we’re looking at quite a few collaborations this week). It just so happens that these collabs – and a few hot sales I’ll share with you – are packed with great outerwear, cozy knits and balaclavas, and ethereal jewelry to dust away any winter doldrums. Quick, before it all sells out:
Woolrich…I’m Watching You
Heritage brand Woolrich, known for its durable, high-quality, and timeless textiles (among other things), is clearly angling to maintain relevance in 2022 – and it’s working. Last week, the brand dropped a capsule collection with Aimé Leon Dore. This week, it’s a gorgeous wool blanket made in partnership with artist Matt McCormick’s brand One Of These Days. Let’s get into the details, shall we?
The ALD x Woolrich collection is the sixth installment of a long-running collaboration, inspired by Woolrich’s archive and touched by the ALD aesthetic to produce limited-edition pieces that feel at once modern and vintage. Shockingly, not everything is sold out. Some of the collection’s highlights – quilted jackets ($595), vests ($395), and even this bizarre little duck pin ($25), which would make a great stocking stuffer – are still available. Don’t tell anyone until you’ve successfully purchased your favorites.
Because I’m not a 29 year-old Brooklyn-based man with a self-described creative career title, I’m less compelled by the ALD collaboration than this surprisingly stunning wool landscape blanket ($375), which was launched on the One Of These Days site earlier this week. It’s got beautiful tonal details, contrasting color stories on either side, and crochet stitching on the edges. It’s cold in L.A. I might just have to take this one home.
Uniqlo x Marni, Because Women Deserve Great Collaborations, Too
Uniqlo is often dropping fantastic collaborations that are easy to miss if you’re not watching for them – or reading TQE. (If the JW Anderson launch didn’t register on your radar, it’s still live, and even better? It’s largely on sale. Written while wearing these socks.)
The brand’s latest collaboration with womenswear label Marni is, simply put, fabulous, featuring vibrant color-blocked puffers ($249), cashmere knits ($179) with matching (and reversible) scarves ($129), and adorable balaclavas ($29) to brighten your winter wardrobe. Shop it now, and steal some styling tips from the Uniqlo site while you’re there.
Senia Brings The Sustainable Holiday Sparkle – All For Under $100, from $68
Senia, the sustainable, modular jewelry brand we know and love for its infinitely versatile pieces, just launched its first-ever under $100 collection. The GiGi Collection, named for the founders’ younger sister Gina Senia, features elegant and dainty chains ($88), drop earrings ($68), and sleek huggies ($88) that look as beautiful standing alone as they do layered with the jewelry you never take off. Get the holiday sparkle without breaking the bank – and with everything under $100, you can afford to gift yourself, too.
Sophia Roe And Pamela Love Launch Mycelial Jewelry, from $280
Earlier this month, jewelry designer Pamela Love teamed up with chef and activist Sophia Roe to debut a collection that pays homage to the mushroom. Crafted entirely in recycled sterling silver – Sophia’s favorite material, and an ode to both women’s shared dedication to sustainability – the collection ranges from fruiting body earrings ($490) that clearly emulate tiered mushroom caps to more subtle hoops ($300) and rings ($280) that draw inspiration from mycelial details. The perfect gift for your friend who’d gladly spend the day foraging their dinner, or growing oyster mushrooms from a fungal block.
Sales You Should Be Aware Of, Because I Care About You
What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t alert you to some of the internet’s greatest sales, considering we’re in prime holiday deal season?
- Reformation has announced the start of its Winter sale (up to 50% off at this point, which means the best stuff is going, fast). It’s made me lose faith in the strictly bi-annual Ref sale cadence of yore, but doesn’t make me any less likely to snatch up some great cashmere and party dresses.
- Outdoor Voices has an extra 40% off sale items you’ll actually want now: I’m talking awesome flare plants and cozy fleece for all your outdoor trekking needs.
- And for your last minute holiday gifting, Phaidon knows you want its coffee table books at 30% off. Use code BOOK30, and try not to get overwhelmed by the embarrassment of literary riches.
I’ll be back next week with a new set of launches in the DTC universe. Email me directly – zoe@thequalityedit.com – with any launches you’d like to see in the spotlight, or DM us over @thequalityedit.
