After a month of resolution-making and resetting in January, I always use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to splurge. By the time February rolls around I usually need a serious pick me up to get me through the last months of winter. Whether it’s a new pair of strappy heels or a luxurious cashmere sweater, retail therapy usually does the trick. After all, January tends to race by in a busy flash of closet clean-outs and drop offs to Goodwill, so there’s extra space in my closet waiting to be filled… And while I love shopping for Valentine’s gifts for a partner, there’s something especially decadent and fun about refreshing my wardrobe with a treat for myself.
Valentine’s Day also falls right in the middle of the season, when we all need to change things up the most. By this point, we’ve worn our winter capsule wardrobes in every conceivable combination (I love my cable knit sweater but if I have to wear it one more time I may scream!). Valentine’s Day is the best time to inject your wardrobe with something fun, playful, and sexy, whatever that means to you.
If you’re looking to treat yourself, refresh your wardrobe, and spice up the end of the winter season, shop our edit of essential Valentine’s Day fashion, accessories, and more.

Shoes & Accessories
My first stop when looking to revamp my wardrobe is my shoe rack. Eledera is my favorite shoe brand at the moment, and they’ve created the absolute perfect ballet flat. The pop of bright red color is perfect for Valentine’s and on trend with this winter’s hottest color trend.

Eledera also makes the cutest and most comfortable mary jane heel. I got a pair of these for the holiday season and haven’t been able to stop wearing them since. The quality is stunning and the chunky heel makes late nights and long walks painless.

Home & Beauty
I like to use my Valentine’s wardrobe refresh as an excuse to create the most luxurious dressing routine possible. Here are a couple of my essential home and beauty tools that I use to turn my closet into a sanctuary.
The first step in creating ambiance in my home is always to light my Tsu Lange Yor oil diffuser or candle. For a sexy holiday like Valentine’s, I’d go with their smokey Sassafras scent. Bonus points if you throw on music by their creative director, Troye Sivan.

Once February rolls around, we’re in serious need of three things: romance, a little luxury, and hydration. This nourishing body lotion from Sangre de Fruta has become a staple in my getting ready ritual. It’s super lightweight, fast absorbing, and the rose scent is perfectly on theme for Valentine’s Day.

This viral Dew Blush from Saie is a lifesaver when I’ve spent way too long getting ready and am running late for a date. I use it as a hydrating blush and lip tint almost every day, and always have one in my bag. They added gorgeous new colors to the line in January, including a full size version of their viral Baby pink.
