Is Quince too good to be true? I've head amazing things about the brand and figured some of their cashmere pieces might make great holiday gifts (did I mention they offer free shipping and returns?) but wanted to do a little digging before ordering sweaters for friends and family. Here's what I found...
Quince makes ‘exceptionally high-quality essentials’ like cashmere sweaters, hoodies, cookware, towels, and linens – at extremely reasonable prices (cashmere starts at $50, for example). It sounds great but…how?
Quince claims their secret to achieving high quality and low prices is partnering directly with ethical manufacturers and selling all of their items (which truly run the gamut, and are always expanding) directly online. That way, they cut out traditional retail expenses like sourcing agents, warehousing, wholesaling, distribution and storefront retail. All of those savings are passed directly to you.
To be totally honest, I figured it was all a hoax – until I spotted a friend in the brand’s extremely popular (so I’ve come to learn) Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater. I asked her if it was from a buzzy (and verrrry expensive) brand, and was floored when she told me it was from Quince. My jaw completely dropped when she mentioned its price tag: a mere $50 for a sweater so plush and soft?!
As it turns out, the internet is in agreement: these products are great. After taking the bait and sampling some of the brand’s fall launches (including several pieces made of their new and improved Mongolian Cashmere), I can honestly say that I’ve been impressed with each of the pieces I’ve tried.
