I Swapped My Giant Canvas Tote for This Chic Work Bag – Now I Know Why It Has A Cult Following

Have you ever heard of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon? You probably have, though maybe not by that name. It explains that weird thing that happens as soon as someone mentions something…and then you notice it everywhere. Red cars. Ballet flats. The term ‘generative AI.’  

I recently had a Baader-Meinhof situation with the brand Parker Thatch after asking my trustiest coworker for a work bag recommendation. Suddenly, I was seeing these gorgeous bags everywhere – on influencers, friends, and even strangers. I had to know more…

But First, Let’s Rewind

For – I hate to admit it – years, I lugged around a giant, embarrassing canvas tote as my everyday work bag. Their aesthetic? A little preppy, a little laid-back, and totally timeless. It’s the kind of brand you spot on someone at a coffee shop and immediately want to ask about.

I had been looking for the ‘perfect’ work bag, but if I’m being totally honest, I didn’t exactly know my criteria. I figured I’d know what I was looking for when I found it. Here she is!
