I love a good poolside hang just as much as the next person, but finding the right swimsuit isn’t always fun (or easy). I’ve spent hours in a poorly-lit dressing room feeling less than great while trying on ill-fitting swimsuits. The struggle, as they say, is so very real.
But! This year, I’ve finally found my stride in the swimsuit department. To gear up for summer 2024, I’ve rounded up my favorite DTC swimwear brands with great patterns, materials, and fits. There are so many solid options that maybe, like me, you’ll have a hard time figuring out which ones to take with you on your next beach trip – so you bring them all. (If that’s your biggest struggle, my work here is done.)

Sporty Picks for Active Days
As far as performance swimwear is concerned, Body Glove leads the pack. This brand has been around since 1953 and is well known for its functional wetsuit that fits like a “body glove.” This expertise also extends to the brand’s swimwear, which is available in one-pieces, bikinis, and surfable styles. Body Glove caters to the entire family, offering swimwear for both men and children as well. My personal favorites are the high-rise swim bottoms.

A Design For A Range Of Body Types
Another swimwear line that makes it clear that swimsuits should conform to the body's constantly changing state is Youswim. Youswim offers four one-size-fits-seven-frames collections: Aplomb, Poise, Eva, and Verve. The claim sounds over the top, but it’s the combination of a strong material (European nylon yarn) and expert design that makes it possible. Instead of following fixed sizing, Youswim takes body movement into account to create swimwear that stretches in different directions and can fit a wide range of body types.

A Curve-Flattering Choice
Why do we wear shapewear under our clothing but opt for ill-fitting, shapeless swimwear in situations where we show the most skin? TA3 Swim founder, Leila Shams, decided to combine the two and built her entire company off that brilliant idea. Their Mega Sculpting Suits smooth, sculpt, and lift to accentuate your natural curves and leave you feeling confident while you relax by the water this summer.
