One-piece swimsuits don’t get enough love on Instagram ads, unless, like me, you’ve actively tried to influence your ads algorithm. There’s something so cozy about one-piece suits—you can more often than not move more freely in them, have them double as an outfit by throwing on a skirt or pair of shorts on, and they’re pretty necessary if you plan on having a more active day at the beach or a vigorous swim in the pool. We’ve picked our favorite brands making the most stylish and comfortable one-piece swimsuits that’ll last you for summers to come.

The first thing that caught my eye about Summersalt’s line of swimwear is how comfortable the brand’s bathing suits look, how they seem to be perfect for anyone who likes to be a little bit more active when she’s at the beach or by the pool. And indeed, their swimsuits are made for more than just lounging. Summersalt promises not to sacrifice style for comfort and I love how their Ruffle Backflip ($95) one-piece embodies just that. The brand’s signature compression and architectural details ensure that you won’t have to spend your summer days tugging at and adjusting this flirty, polka-dot swimsuit, which is offered in twelve other colors and designs. This design has built-in bra cups for added support and the ruffled cap sleeves make it feel like it can double as a cute bodysuit for your next beach or pool party.

Sometimes you want a one-piece that feels like a two-piece. Fella’s Sabath Full Piece ($260) swimsuit is made with a diamond cut-out design while a halter neckline ties things off at the top. Like many other Fella designs, this bathing suit is made from the brand’s signature custom Rio fabric, which features an Art Deco wave that enhances the shape and curve of your body while simultaneously providing structure. Fella is an Australian brand that believes in highlighting “90s minimalism and a Mediterranean holiday mood” in swimwear that’s straightforward and uniquely textured.

We all know Skims does under- and activewear quite well. Their line of swimwear is even more stunning and makes you want styles you didn’t even know you needed, or didn’t even know existed. One of these styles is a one-piece from the Skims Zip-Up series, the Zip-Up Swim Strapless One Piece ($98), which comes in, among other colors, a blindingly hot pink and an electric cobalt blue. The white lining and front-facing zipper reminds us of Wimbledon tournaments and I don’t doubt you could play some serious water polo in this swimsuit. If you’re not the strapless kind of gal, there’s a Scoop Neck ($98) option, and if you plan on snorkeling anytime soon, why not do it in style with the Mock Neck ($108) style?

For those wanting their Pamela Anderson “Baywatch” moment this summer, you’ll need to first get your hands on Andie’s Tulum One Piece ($98) in Cherry Red. The design is made with Andie’s “Flat” fabric, which has a compressive lining and four-way stretch to provide all-day comfort and recovery, and has an UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 50, or the most amount of UV protection you can get (98% to be exact!) from clothing. The Tulum has removable soft cups for added bust support and I fell in love with the simple and sporty design of the cross-body straps on the back of the swimsuit. This is definitely the one-piece I want to be wearing for an active day at the beach when I don’t want to be worried about a major wave causing me major embarrassment.

If you’re someone who identifies as a “swimmer” (or have actually participated in competitive swimming) and are in need of a swimsuit that will look stylish poolside and serve you while doing laps, Left On Friday’s Double Scoop Suit ($170) is for you. There are too many reasons this one-piece is great for swimmers. Left On Friday’s Smoothing Dream Fabric dries quickly, is optimized for chlorine and salt waters, is soft and smooth over the body, and can be washed and dried in your laundry machines. The suit is available in regular and tall sizes and has straps that feel comfortable all day long. Trying this suit on, I felt extremely supported and I loved its simple and elegant design—a perfect choice for athletes or anyone who plans on spending several hours a day in their swimsuit.

From the easy, breezy coast of Venice Beach, California, Skatie is a brand offering up a variety of one-piece suits in prints and cuts that make you want to run to find the nearest beach as soon as possible. The Nicole one-piece ($135), for example, comes in several different patterns and its asymmetrical design, knotted at the shoulder and hip with a midsection cut-out, feels unique and classy. If you love one-pieces with a bit of that cut-out flair, Skatie has many other styles to choose from.

Another asymmetrical style, we love Negative’s Swim One Shoulder One-Piece ($160) for its simplicity and energetic cobalt blue color. The suit’s nylon fabric is smoothing and molds to the body like gentle shapewear and we love the chic, slimmer straps, whose asymmetry extends to the back of the suit, with each strap rejoining the body at opposite points for a little bit more intrigue.
