Kosas, Ilia, And Jones Road — Oh My.
The clean beauty brands are NOT messing around in 2024. Start the year strong with three launches from DTC darlings Kosas, Ilia, and Jones Road. (Yes, you’ll probably want to try all three. Continue reading at your own risk.)
Kosas just launched eleven new shades of its cult-favorite skincare hero, Revealer Concealer ($30). (Meaning you now have 38 total options from which to reach your perfect color match.) Formulated with potent ingredients like Caffeine, Pink Algae Extract, Arnica, Peptides, and Hyaluronic Acid, it does more than just conceal — it simultaneously disappears dark circles, hyperpigmentation, and redness. Makeup that masks your skin is so 2016. Welcome to 2024, where we’re all about enhancing your preternatural radiance.
Meanwhile, ILIA’s new Face Milk ($58) — inspired by Korean beauty regimens — will instantly plump, hydrate, and refresh your skin, reinforcing your lipid barrier and optimizing skin renewal throughout the day. Drawing on the properties of hyaluronic acid; a barrier renewal complex; microalgae extract; and prickly pear flower extract, the Face Milk is designed to layer seamlessly into your morning or evening routine, silky and smooth beneath makeup or moisturizer.
Last but definitely not least, Jones Road’s new Multivitamin Serum ($48) carries on the metaphorical torch of hydration and hyaluronic acid (evidently the beauty buzzword of this month). Packed with vitamins C, B, E, and Sodium Hyaluronate to soothe and brighten the face and neck, the Serum’s stainless steel rollerball applicator packs an extra depuffing (and antibacterial) punch. Say hello to skin so hydrated, you’ll forget it’s January.
Surrender Your Winter Dryness To The Soft Services Gods
Are your hands suffering at the cruel hand of winter? Soft Services just brought back its viral overnight repair cream, Theraplush ($62), to glove your hands in a soft layer of nourishing ingredients overnight. Formulated with pure retinol – yes, we’re talking face-grade skincare – along with colloidal oatmeal to soothe and soften down to your cuticles, Theraplush is a must-purchase (specifically, must purchase before it sells out again). Goodbye hangnails and rough hands, hello spa treatment while you slumber.
Dry January Is Just Getting Started
Do you know where (or what) your beverages are? If you’re cutting out (or cutting back on) alcohol this month, it’s crucial to have some star players in your libation rotation. As an ode to Dry January, Hiyo just rolled out a new flavor: Strawberry Guava ($45 per 12-pack), a vibrant and tangy seltzer boosted by lemon balm and passion flower for a healthier way to relax with each sip. Pour it in a wine glass and it might pass for a skin contact.
Health-Ade just launched three new flavors, all of which will help you imagine you’re on a tropical getaway instead of peak Winter. Pick your gut-loving poison: Guava Dragon Fruit, Mango Lemonade, or Tropical Pineapple.
Scent-sational News
There’s no better time to refresh your scent story than the period between the start of a new year and Valentine’s Day. (I just made this up, because I love to smell amazing year-round, but it feels true.) I’ll have a new bodycare brand for you next week, so let’s start with candles. Loam’s garden-inspired small-batch scents will bring some verdant magic into your home, from your kitchen to your bedside table. Founder Jessica White draws on her experience working as an urban farmer in LA, crafting fragrances that capture her experiences in various gardens across the city. I’ll take the Scenic Route ($33), meet you there.
Before You Go…
We’ve barely scratched the surface. Hunza G is premeditating some summer pregnancies with the launch of its new Maternity collection. The brand’s signature crinkle fabrication makes an ideal canvas for stretchable beachwear fit for two. It’s never too early to shop for your babymoon.
Sézane collaborated with the pattern geniuses at Pangea on a capsule collection brimming with patchwork and printed button downs, cotton scarves, and gold-plated jewelry that’s all selling out as we confer.
The Rachel Comey sale – with many pieces up to 60% off – is not to be missed. I’m talking six pages of killer boots, tailored coats, jumpsuits, dare I go on? I’ll let you shop in peace.
Wolf Circus’s Sample Sale feels like my best kept secret – or perhaps just so good, it feels like it should be a secret. New year, new jewelry. Browse from a remarkable selection of the label’s past styles to find your new signature piece.
