My biggest resolution for 2025 is to take my health more seriously – whether that’s curbing my sweet tooth, limiting my alcohol consumption, or finally addressing the toll that stress can take on the body. But, as we all know, setting virtuous resolutions or intentions to turn over a new leaf are one thing…sticking to them is another. After years of intention setting with mixed results, I’d say I know myself pretty well – and the only way to set myself up to stick to my resolutions is to build steps into my daily routine that aren’t just easy, but enjoyable too.
As someone who tries to only use products that use natural ingredients, I’ve been interested in herbal medicine for a long time. But every time I walked through the herbal supplements aisle in my local health food store I felt overwhelmed by the options. I’ve never been a vitamin girl, and I don’t like taking gummies with added sugars and other unhealthy ingredients, so I was very intrigued to read about Apothékary, a buzzy brand offering holistic health products that bring Japanese traditions to modern wellness. Apothékary immediately seemed like an answer to that confusion I faced every time I started to dip a toe into the world of herbal medicine – their tinctures are designed to take the guesswork out of plant medicine, combining potent natural ingredients into blends that target specific long term wellness goals. After a couple minutes browsing their site, I already felt like I was learning more about the benefits of each natural ingredient in their blends.
With my short and long term health goals for 2025 in mind, I collected five of Apothékary’s most popular products to test whether they were efficient and enjoyable enough to add into my daily wellness routine. Read on for my honest review of Apothékary!

Metabolic Health Goals
My biggest health goal is supporting my metabolism, so the first Apothékary product I wanted to check out was Blue Burn™, a tincture that blends herbs like Oregon Grape Root and Ashwagandha to support weight management and boost energy and workout recovery. Now, I’d heard of Ashwagandha being used in Ayurvedic medicine, but had never heard of Oregon Grape Root before. Luckily the Apothékary website has super clear explanations on each natural ingredient in their blends including their benefits and how they’re derived. Right off the bat I loved this clarity. I learned about how Oregon Grape Root is a natural source of berberine – a compound that I’ve been reading a lot of coverage about recently because it can help stabilize blood glucose levels, promote healthy lipid levels, and support healthy weight management. Combined with the rest of the Blue Burn™ ingredients (like Maca Root and Spirulina), the tincture can help with metabolic issues like workout performance, sugar cravings, and balancing your energy throughout the day.
Over the last week I’ve tried taking a daily dropper full of Blue Burn™ both on its own and mixed into my water per the Apothékary website’s simple, clear dosing instructions. I loved both the nutty, zesty taste and the feeling that I was creating a new daily personal ritual. There’s something about taking a tincture vs. a vitamin that feels more special and enjoyable (plus much easier to swallow!) – and therefore is something I’m more likely to stick with. I also like that Apothékary has a subscription set up so that if you find a product you like and want to commit to, you can get a discount and automatic delivery – in this case dropping the price per bottle down 15% to $33.15.

Apothékary recently introduced Sugar Kick™, their newest formula to help balance blood glucose levels, a key factor in combating sugar cravings and fatigue. So many people deal with blood sugar spikes and don’t even know it – I started researching glucose health last year and have been on the lookout for natural products to fold into my daily routine to help stabilize my energy throughout the day. I knew there was no way that I’d be able to avoid sugary products altogether, and that if I was going to meet my long term health goals I needed to find a balanced way of managing the moments when I did decide to indulge in a treat, like a friend’s birthday or a work function.
I took Sugar Kick™ along with Blue Burn™ 15 minutes before a pancake breakfast with friends, and noticed a definite difference in how I usually respond to eating carbs in the morning – I didn’t feel my energy spike and then crash like it usually does. I personally liked the taste of the Blue Burn™ tincture better, but I really like knowing that I can take a dropper full of Sugar Kick™ multiple times a day in case a meal comes up that would ordinarily spike my blood glucose levels.

Wine Craving Whisperers
I’ve definitely been known to have a glass of wine before bed to help get to sleep, but after experiencing the negative inflammatory side effects of alcohol firsthand while recovering from Covid last year and learning about the glucose-spiking sugars in wine while researching how to stabilize my blood glucose, I’m really making an effort to limit my alcohol intake. Apothékary has several wine alternative tinctures to help replace your nightly glass of wine, whether you prefer red, white, or rosé.
The first one I tried was Wine Down™, a blend of tart cherry (which went viral last year as a helpful natural sleep aid), L-Theanine, elderberry, California poppy, and more. I took a dropper of Wine Down™ before my nightly yin yoga practice, and its rich berry flavor definitely enhanced my evening wind-down. Afterwards, I enjoyed a deeply restful sleep – it had similar effects to Melatonin, just without the drowsiness the next day.

Apothékary’s white wine alternative Take The Edge Off® has become my favorite happy hour treat. It’s super refreshing and was delicious when I mixed it with sparkling water and a lemon twist as a little mocktail. This was my favorite flavor of the five tinctures I tried. The blend of holistic ingredients like Linden, Skullcap, and White Mulberry were both soothing and refreshing, and they definitely took the stress off of socializing (like the dreaded awkwardness of small talk!).

Finally, I gave Apothékary’s rosé alternative Rosé-Tinted Glasses™ a try. I usually avoid rosé because it gives me a terrible hangover and leaves me feeling especially dehydrated. Rosé-Tinted Glasses™ has a blend of adaptogenic and antioxidant natural ingredients like Rosehip and Lion’s Mane to help improve my mood and alertness while also improving my skin tone and hydration. I had 1 full dropper while lounging poolside on a recent weekend getaway and loved the tart, floral taste. It was a luxury to be able to indulge in a mood-boosting treat (I definitely noticed feeling more relaxed and more clear-headed) without the dread of a looming rosé hangover.

In Summary
I’m a total tincture convert – I genuinely enjoyed the daily ritual of taking a dropper of Apothékary blends vs. my usual grin-and-bear it approach to taking vitamins. And unlike gummy supplements with tons of sweeteners and additives and shaky claims about their benefits, the Apothékary site made it really easy for me to learn about each ingredient so I felt confident about what I was taking, especially knowing their commitment to sourcing vegan and sustainable ingredients. As I integrated each tincture into my morning and bedtime routines, I felt like I was finally making headway in educating myself in herbal medicine, something I’ve been wanting to learn more about for years. Whether you’re looking to limit your alcohol intake or get a handle on your metabolic health, I can’t recommend Apothékary enough!
