For fashion writers, the annual Met Gala fundraiser is like a combination of the Oscars and the Olympics rolled into one, as stylists sprint to snag their clients the most iconic look of the most iconic night of the year. This year’s dress code was “In the Garden of Time,” a nod to the Met’s new “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit. Honorary co-chair Jonathan Anderson’s label Loewe was the star of the night, turning out incredible looks on celebrities like Jamie Dornan, Ayo Edebiri, and Jonathan Bailey. Romantic florals dominated the night, ranging from delicate garden party pastels to dark goth brambles.
If you didn’t manage to snag a ticket (at $75k a seat, who can!), you can still dress on theme with our essential 2024 Met Gala Style Guide.

Zendaya’s second look of the night was one of our favorites. If you love the goth vibe of her vintage Givenchy dress, it-girl favorite Guizio’s darkly romantic Cheri Pintuck Top is our must-have pick. The dramatic long sleeve and ruffled details give drama without a floor length train.

Tiny glasses king Bad Bunny had our favorite menswear look of the night in this deconstructed Margiela look. Does his hat look like a bike seat? According to our group chat, maybe. Does he pull it off? Somehow, yes. We loved his diamond mini-shades so much we tracked down a similar pair from Saint Laurent.
