This is my main takeaway from Netflix’s Griselda: Even though the drug queenpin was a brutal murderer, she sure could dress. The series opens with a chilling quote from Pablo Escobar, “The only man I was ever afraid of was a woman named Griselda Blanco.” And with good reason.
Griselda orders hit after hit until she’s megalord of Miami’s drug scene — all while dressed in late-1970s, early-80s glam. While the murder-as-feminism messaging was iffy (she provided smuggling jobs to women), I was fully on board for the wide collars, bell bottoms, and shimmery fabrics. We’ve selected some of Griselda’s best looks and recreated them (make-up, too!) so you can cosplay female Scarface.

If you want to project confidence and intimidate coworkers, shoulder pads are the quickest way there. Try this Boss Lady Dress ($285) with padded shoulders (and attached cape), and pair with sheer black tights ($33) for a full-Griselda look. For a pants-friendly but equally dramatic shoulder outfit, opt for a structured crew neck top ($32) with enhanced shoulders.
Hopefully, your shirtdress will never see blood spatters, but even post-homicide Griselda looks board-room-ready in this Banana Republic Khaki Shirtdress ($91). The look isn’t complete without a statement belt: this Iris Snaffle-Trim Leather Belt ($70) with gold horsebit buckle is a close dupe. For an even more wallet-friendly waist cincher, try this extra-wide under $20 belt that will get lots of mileage.
Griselda isn’t all business all the time–she can also channel groovy hippies in these wide-legged jeans ($148), strappy sandals ($345), and sage blouse ($275). Complete the look with extra-large sunglasses ($189) and a macrame handbag ($80).
Let’s talk about Griselda’s make-up and hair for a moment (don’t get thrown by Sofia Vergara’s jawline–it’s prosthetic). Even if you’re not blessed with dense lashes you can achieve the alluring effect with Glamnetic’s Natural Kit ($23) and for Griselda’s matte lip, swipe on this Suede Matte Crayon ($26) available in twelve shades. She usually keeps it simple with black eyeliner ($32), but her hair is always blown out to perfection. For gloss befitting a villainess, try this lightweight Shine Oil ($30) that will give some bounce to a day-old blowout.

You must have known a mob wife adjacent look was in the cards. Griselda can carry off an animal print like no other and you, too, can deck yourself out in a snakeskin blouse ($70) and boss lady trousers ($395).

Is it just me or does this cognac linen set smack of quiet luxury? The color is so posh and the cut, so flattering. This double-breasted blazer ($238) is just the right hue (even though, sadly, it doesn’t have the built-in tie-belt). These beautifully tailored linen pants ($295) in “Tawny” are a pretty close color match as well–and the back elastic means they have a little give.
Griselda’s brutal ascent to dominance is mirrored in increasingly flashy attire — metallic fabrics and sequins precede her downfall. Recreate this eye-catching OOTN with a metallic wrap dress ($173) and gold necklace ($195) worthy of another anti-heroine who infiltrated a boys’ club: Cleopatra.
Griselda’s off-duty look is just as luxe as her going-out garb. She wouldn’t be caught dead in a ratty old tee shirt — not when she can sleep in a slinky, champagne robe ($148) and plunging chemise ($140).
