Have you ever heard those horror stories about couples (mainly the guys, who are we kidding?) losing their wedding rings in a lake or around the house? Or even worse, having their fingers seriously damaged from an accident that rapidly pulled off their ring? Heck, it happened to Jimmy Fallon a few years ago!
Even though I personally haven’t had those experiences, even the thought of them happening gives me shivers. Thankfully,QALO makes silicone rings that fit so well and are so comfortable you barely notice them, all while keeping your hand safe. Keep reading for my full breakdown of those rings you’ve been seeing everywhere.

Quality, Durability, Safety:
You’ve probably spotted your friends or family wearing them. QALO’s silicone bands are the simple accessories that seemingly everyone switched to from traditional metal wedding bands. Within a few years, they became the de facto hand accessory for married men, women, and rugged ring wearers.
The Step Edge, part of QALO’s classic series, is made from ultra-strong silicone to ensure that it’ll last for years. You’re going to be wearing this for 24 hours a day, so it needs to be comfortable. The ring is smoothly finished to prevent chafing, friction, and, most importantly, getting caught up with rogue materials. (Think sticks and branches on a hike.)
The brand spent years on R&D to develop their unique silicone blends. Typically, the men’s rings can withstand up to 44 lbs. of pressure, and the women’s rings can withstand up to 23 lbs. of pressure.
To back up their materials, QALO offers a one-time, any-time warranty on all their rings. So, fear no more when traveling or swimming. QALO’s got you covered. I’ve certainly seen my fair share of raggedy rubber rings, and it’s just not a good look.
Plus, if you end up losing it again, it’s not going to run you up a thousand dollars; it’s basically the price of a Chipotle burrito these days.
When I took my QALO ring out of the box, the first thing I was surprised at was how soft it was. You know how good a precious piece of jewelry feels, right? While not 24-karat gold, the Polished Step Edge certainly had a softness that screamed quality. To add some finger grip, the inner band has an imprinted logo that helps it stay in place while still being easy to remove.
While I’ve only had it for a little bit, the ring feels like it’ll last for many years. Unless I clumsily lose it, of course.
Sizing:
Of course, finding the perfect fit for your finger is everything. QALO helps you find what size is right with a quick three-step process:
- Wrap a small string around your finger at the base
- Make sure the ring is snug but not restricting, and mark the length on the string
- Measure the string length in millimeters
When my ring finally arrived, it fit perfectly. If that isn’t the case for you, QALO offers a free 60-day exchange to give you some peace of mind.
They also offer a few different ring widths if you have a preference: Fine (the thinnest), Narrow (pretty standard), and Wide (for bigger fingers).
I personally felt like the narrow was the perfect middle of the road option, but ultimately it’s up to you.

A Trusted Partner:
I’m not married yet, so I don’t typically wear a ring (other than Oura), which caused me some getting used to. But, after a few days of wearing this around town, at the gym, running errands, etc. I can confidently say I didn’t really have any major issues with it getting in the way or being uncomfortable.
Thankfully, the QALO silicone also wouldn’t be affected by the heat you and I experience every day. No, not even the sauna. Their silicone doesn’t melt until it’s in temperatures about 400 degrees fahrenheit. I’m not sure about you, but I don’t plan on being in that type of heat any time soon.
The QALO ring is a clear winner if you’re looking to switch from metal to a silicone ring. The material is soft yet sturdy, the durability is unmatched (even for crazy CrossFit workouts or steamy saunas), and they’re actually pretty stylish. They have over 100 colors and patterns, and the Metallics collection is great for anyone who wants to keep that metal look going.
To add to the hype, they’re non-toxic, odorless, and hypoallergenic. And they don’t have BPA or latex, sure to please the ones who care about your health. At under $50, this could be an easy (and actually useful) gift for a significant other or a nice gift for yourself if you’re trying to change up your fashion while staying safe and comfortable.
Gone are the days of being out a bunch of money from your simple mistakes or, potentially, losing a finger!
