There are many ways we can connect with nature in our own homes. The last few years have seen the rising popularity of nature-inspired hues, whether that’s Dakota Johnson’s viral green kitchen or Drew Barrymore’s best-selling sage-toned air fryer. Plants have also begun to play a bigger role in our interiors — whether you have a green thumb or not. Think living walls, dried flowers, and towering house plants that provide a space with color, drama, and some hidden health benefits. To take that connection to nature even further, outdoor showers are becoming increasingly popular among those who have adequate outdoor space to put them in (and live in a location with a climate suitable for showering in the open air!)
ORCA aims to reconnect humans to Earth, and the brand’s range of natural products proves it.

Female-founded and environmentally conscious
A female-founded brand, ORCA was started by Molly Sedlacek. Molly grew up on the Oregon coast and her love for outdoor design sprouted after spending her childhood outdoors and surrounded by nature. After moving to San Fransisco, she discovered her talent for outdoor design when she was planting, curating, and exploring use of the outdoor space in her garden.
“What I wanted, I couldn’t point to in a picture, it only existed in my imagination. It took material sourcing and experimenting to understand what flora, stone, and timber felt right,” she told luxury Los Angeles real estate company Jenna Cooper LA in an interview. “Quickly after completing this garden, my community of friends and family began supporting this conceptual approach to landscape design, and ORCA was born.”
The brand uses materials in their most natural form to create environmentally conscious products. Crafted from raw copper and brass, the Copper/Brass Outdoor Shower ($1,400) is corrosion-resistant and comes in two sizes: standard and extended. The standard size comes with a showerhead, plumbing, and 1x mounting clip, while the extended size features a showerhead, plumbing, 3x mounting clips, and a foot tap. If you want a wall-mounted shower, go for the standard size; for a standing floor shower, opt for the extended size. It’s worth noting that, with continuous use, the shower will develop a patina. Essentially, this means it will take on a green color due to oxidization, which is often valued for its aesthetically pleasing look — the same thing that happened to the Statue of Liberty.
Suitable for gardens, pool areas, and saunas, the outdoor shower is designed and made in California and will turn any space into a spa-like oasis.
Design-forward offerings for sustainable living
In addition to its stylish outdoor shower, ORCA offers everything you need for an earth-friendly outdoor space.
The Copper/Brass Faucet ($750) is the ideal companion to the shower. With a minimalistic design, the materials and controls give a rustic industrial feel to the product and work great as a hand-washing station in the garden. Not strictly limited to outdoor use, it’ll also look wonderful in the kitchen or bathroom. Professional installation is required for best results.
ORCA's furniture products are meticulously designed from durable wood materials as close to their rawest form possible. The Adirondack Chair ($1,700) comes in three styles (Steel (rust), Galvanized Steel (silver), and Powder Coated Black) and is ideal for garden lounging. With a low profile and high back, the chairs have a Mid-Century Modern feel. Each chair is made from warm, aromatic cedar renowned for its mildew and rot-resistant properties, meaning they are an investment piece that will look as good as new for years to come. The hardest part? Choosing the colorway.
Pavers are also a huge part of the brand’s inventory, with many styles, shapes, and sizes available to help you fully customize your garden. For first-timers, ORCA offers a detailed FAQ about choosing pavers, and the paver installation guide gives step-by-step instructions.
To complete your outdoor oasis, ORCA offers a range of nature-friendly accessories, including a sweet birdhouse ($350) and a steel mailbox ($1,500).
