Reader: My gf gets the worst period cramps. What can I get her for that as part of a V-Day care package?
Lillie: This is such a thoughtful inquiry! Nothing says “I’m here to help” like a tincture for your period cramps. Here at TQE, we swear by Cramp Control ($36). Anything with Cramp Bark is a game changer and it’s so easy to use – add a dropperful to water, juice, tea or smoothies and instantly feel relief. Another item I came across recently that really caught my eye are these double chocolate chip cookies (yes, you read that right!) which contain ingredients for hormone balance, fertility & better periods!
Reader: Would love ideas on what gift to bring to a baby shower!
Lillie: I’m about five years away from heading to my first baby shower, but I still have some great recommendations for you. The first is The Chair ($215) from Lalo. I love how sleek and modern it looks and I’m not the only one – this brand is loved by Blake Lively and Khloe Kardashian, too. Another adorable option is this Dad Shirt ($74.95) from Lalabu. And lastly, one of our editors brought up a great point: baby shower gifts don't always have to be for the baby! Treat mom or dad to a Canopy humidifier ($125) or diffuser ($70) – they’re great self care and relaxation gifts.
Reader: What suggestions do you have for apparel that’s nice, casual, and not too extra?
Lillie: Oh right, it’s time to put our sweatpants away and start dressing for the outside! I’m a sucker for timeless pieces, and my recent obsession has been this Rae Cardigan Set ($105) from Sisterhood. Sets are a great way to look put together without taking much effort at all. If you’re like me and are still dressing for comfort (while still being cute!), you also have to check out this waffle button down ($205) and sweater pant set ($154) from Donni.
Reader: I’m looking for a "just because" gift for the bf. What do you suggest?
Lillie: As someone whose love language is giving and receiving gifts, I love the fact that this is a “just because” gift! First option you could look at is getting him a Ridge Wallet (from $95). If you haven’t heard of Ridge before, the brands make sleek, minimalist card holders and wallets that are as heavy duty as it gets. You also can’t go wrong with picking him up another pair of quality joggers from Vuori ($95). I’d go with the Light Oregano Heather color or the classic Black Heather. Lastly, one of the coolest brands we’ve come across at TQE – Gainful! Take a short quiz on lifestyle preferences and goals, and Gainful will actually send you customized protein powder (from $45). You can’t go wrong with any of these options and if you’re feeling extra nice – why not get all of them?
Reader: I’ve been looking for some good shaving products to try, any ideas?
Lillie: I know how hard finding good shaving products can be! Bushbalm is a brand I always recommend to my friends. I find that some shaving products can get really pricey, but the brand’s 3 Step Routine: Dark Spot Minimizer Kit ($60) is affordable while still being effective. If you’re looking for specifically razors, check out all the shave products from OUI The People. I’ve never seen a more beautiful razor…ever.
Reader: Now that the things are open again, what are some good “experience as gift” ideas?
Lillie: Saved the best for last! Paint and Sip classes in the city have been my favorite after work activities. The atmosphere is incredible: you’re with friends, sipping on some drinks, and showcasing your inner Picasso. If you have more of a green thumb, one of our editors is headed to a succulent-making workshop this week (or you can also totally do this at home and pick up some supplies!). If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, a few of us have been to the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit and have loved that as well. All of these are great ways to create experiences and memories together!
