If you’re a beauty guru (guilty) or a TikTok addict (guiltier), you’ve probably seen the discourse on ‘pheromone perfumes’ lately. When the phenomenon first popped up on my feed, I was skeptical about how (or if!) these perfumes could really work.
To walk things back a bit, the general premise is that pheromone perfumes are designed to work with your body’s natural scent chemistry – so they smell different on every wearer. Liquid London is taking pheromone perfume to the next level by using quality ingredients specifically chosen to smell good on all genders.
But, do they really make you irresistible to anyone who comes in contact with you? I wasn’t so sure – so I tried it. Here’s what happened…

This fragrance features notes of sandalwood, jasmine, vanilla, bergamot, and mango.
This one caught me by surprise from the first spritz. Not sure what to expect, I applied For Her on the recommended pulse points (neck, chest, inner elbow and wrist) and was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the scent.
I appreciated that all the notes blended beautifully. Combining earthy notes with florals and incorporating my body chemistry into the mix created a scent I couldn’t place (meaning I’ve not encountered it before) and absolutely couldn't get enough of it. I would easily wear this for a night out because it gave off ultra-luxe vibes.

Featuring notes of mint, pepper, bergamot, rose, and sandalwood.
This fragrance was much softer and brighter than the other two from Liquid London. Perfect for daytime or when you just want that clean, subtle walk-through-the-garden scent, For Him’s scent is appealing for all genders. Though I gave the bottle to my husband, there’s a 100% chance I’ll steal it back when he’s not looking.

Class is now in session: Fragrance 101
Have you ever applied a scent to your skin and found that it doesn’t work for you (even though it smells amazing on literally everyone else)? ::Cries in Chanel No. 5::
That’s because our body chemistry interacts with the molecules in perfumes as soon as we apply them to the skin. So many factors impact how a fragrance smells once it’s on our body – from pH levels to skin type, even our natural body odor can impact how different notes react.
I didn’t know this until I explored the world of fragrance: certain skin tones work better with particular notes than others. For example, oilier skin retains fragrance better than dry skin. Skin with a higher pH level also works well with perfumes featuring fruit or ozonic (water, fresh) notes.
That brings us back to pheromone fragrance. It’s not about adding artificial pheromones to the skin.
Wearing a pheromone perfume enhances your body’s natural chemistry to create a unique and complementary scent, thanks in particular to something called Iso E Super.
Think of Iso E Super like you would add Maldon’s to your filet mignon. That extra pinch of flaky salt takes things up a notch. The same can be said for Iso E Super—it’s a molecule in a fragrance that softens, smoothes and blends exceptionally with other notes – and, more importantly, your unique body chemistry – to create an ultra-luxe, velvety-rich formula.
Liquid London’s Pheromone Parfum Collection
As someone who likes unisex fragrances and often gravitates as much to floral scents as woody notes, I couldn’t help but enjoy getting hit with subtle notes of each of Liquid London’s three fragrances throughout the day. Each is perfectly complex.
If you’re curious about the different parfum notes, here’s a quick breakdown of Liquid London’s Pheromone Parfum collection:

The ingredients are top-notch. Something I noticed with Liquid London is that the fragrance lasted for hours, and that scores some seriously high points. Very rarely do I find a scent that can hold up so well throughout the day, so for those who prefer long-lasting fragrance, this is a good option to try.
Does Liquid London spark chemistry?
Here’s a better question: why do we like to smell good?
It’s about boosting self-confidence and enhancing self-esteem when we’re around others. It can make us feel sexy, ambitious, rich, and playful—scent is such a major part of the human experience.
For all those reasons, Liquid London does spark chemistry. It sparks natural chemistry with our body to create a scent that draws people in and makes them curious when they walk by.
While I can’t say that this fragrance is guaranteed to solve the puzzle that is your love life or score you a new job, I can say it’ll make you more confident as you walk into your next date or interview (and intrigue whoever sits across from you).
Scent is a powerful sense for a reason, and pheromone perfume really is empowering. The internet strikes again – and this time it’s legit. Wearing Liquid London really is one of those experiences you have to try out for yourself to fully understand – and I wholeheartedly recommend you do.
