When my family moved to the suburbs a few months ago, I was most excited about creating a great outdoor space for playing and entertaining (well, of course having a yard in the first place was pretty exciting too). As it turns out, chic and truly weather-resistant outdoor furniture and decor is really hard to find. I spent months scouring the internet, reading reviews, and talking to friends before finding my new holy grail brand: Business & Pleasure Co.
This beachy-chic brand nails the ideal timeless, resortlike look, with a stunning line of umbrellas, cushions, pool floats, beach chairs, outdoor furniture, and more. A true summer staple, if you will. I was already a huge fans of their flagship Market Umbrella ($599), ideal for lounging and dining alike, but the new Riviera colorways mean its looking better than ever. And just as exciting is their latest, greatest Pillows & Cushions Collection (from $59), a versatile and stylish set of pillows, cushions, and loungers.

+ The cushions are filled with all-weather foam and polyester batting, they’re comfortable for kids and adults alike
+ All have phenomenal colorways to choose from - everything from sage stripe to mimosa yellow
+ The umbrella has an impressively large canopy, offering even more shade cover than expected
We don't like
- The cushions can be a bit bulky to store during the winter
- Because it’s ultra stain-resistant, the fabric isn’t super soft
METICULOUSLY DESIGNED FOR OUTDOOR DURABILITY
Let's start with the pillows. Made with high-quality materials and superior construction, the The Modular Pillow Stack ($999) is my favorite in the collection. Each is filled with all-weather foam and polyester batting, making them a super comfy place to lounge – but also giving them the ideal fluffiness to adorn an outdoor couch. They’re covered in Business & Pleasure Co’s own outdoor fabric, Pleasuretex, which is specifically designed for the “harshest outdoor environments” and is “spill-, pill-, stain- and UV-resistant, with industry-leading color fastness and outdoor fillings.” After using the cushions – and leaving them outside – for a few months, I can attest to their durability. They still look brand new despite rain, popsicle stains, and even a bit of spilled wine (oops).
TURN YOUR BACKYARD INTO A RESORT
I’ve always wanted a backyard that exuded resort vibes – you know the ones you see on Instagram, with beautiful rose gardens, planter boxes exploding with veggies, a sparkling infinity pool? I mean, a girl can dream, right? While I might not get everything on my wish list, Business & Pleasure Co’s summer collection got me a little bit closer. After all, there’s nothing more chic than a classic white sofa with sage striped Throw Pillow ($59) or even a Floor Cushion ($249). Throw in a vintage-inspired umbrella and a cold glass of rose, and all that’s left to do is relax.
While we’re on the topic of umbrellas, I'm head over heels for Business & Pleasure’s latest offerings in this department. Their Market Umbrellas' newly-launched Riviera colorways somehow improve upon the classics. The thick, colorful trim on the bottom lends a playful, Italo-chic vibe that I can't get enough of -- especially the Riviera Green ($799), which is now the centerpiece of my back patio. Every detail was designed with user-friendliness in mind, from the easy-zip protective cover that comes included, to the pull string that makes opening and closing the canopy a breeze. Throw in the adorable, scalloped Clamshell Base ($349) and you've got a stunner from top to bottom.

VERSATILITY AT ITS FINEST
My favorite thing about everything Business & Pleasure makes is its versatility. The cushions can be used outdoors in so many different arrangements around a firepit, on the lawn, or on the deck. You can mix and match colors, patterns, and styles, to create the exact look you’re going for. And the best part? It looks just as good indoors. My fam has been using the Modular Pillow Stack to create the perfect movie night set up (and yes, buttery popcorn stains come right out), and my girls love bringing them into the playroom for fort making. It comes with five pieces that can be arranged in a million different ways, but also doesn’t scream “I have a kid!” It's equally crowd-pleasing for the whole family.
No matter what you’re looking for, Business & Pleasure Co has it handled. From foldable and comfortable beach chairs, to stylish umbrellas, to the most durable outdoor cushions on the market, they’ve got a lot of great options for anyone in the market for stylish and versatile furniture.
