When it comes to nursing bras, I have a few thoughts. And after nursing two babies for over a year, I have a bit of experience too. First of all, breastfeeding, pumping, and everything in-between can be so stressful, and while the right products can’t fix everything, I'm a firm believer that they can make things a little easier.
First of all, comfort and versatility are key. You’re wearing these bras pretty much 24/7 right? I was so thrilled to discover Bodily while I was pregnant with my second daughter. Their intimates collection revolutionized my lingerie (err, breastfeeding*) drawer, providing me with unparalleled support, style, and adaptability for every occasion. From daily wear to special events, Bodily’s bras are my go-to postpartum choice, and if I’m being honest, I’m still wearing one of them two years later.

We don't like
The Everything Bra
My personal favorite is the best-selling Everything Bra ($48), an absurdly comfortable bralette and allows for easy nursing. The moment I slipped into this number, I knew I had found the holy grail, my everything if you will. Created with ultra-soft, breathable fabric, this bra feels like a second skin and grows with your body throughout both pregnancy and nursing. At $48, it’s a bit of an investment but I’ve been wearing mine weekly for the better part of three years and it’s still in perfect condition. Bodily’s signature five-row back closure and easy-to-reach strap sliders give extra adjustability for the perfect fit. Plus, the OEKO-TEX fabric and stretchy scoop neck give your breasts “room to breathe.” Trust me, you need this (plus the 1,200 5-star reviews seem to agree too).
The Do Anything Bra
For pumping mamas, we got you too. The powerhouse Do Anything Bra ($58) does exactly that, enabling you to nurse and pump completely hands-free in a bra that you can wear all day long. Gone are the days of packing a special pumping bra in your bag and awkwardly changing in the Mother’s Room at work (or worse, the bathroom). I had 2-3 of these in rotation and wore them to work every single day for six months. The silky, luxurious feel of the fabric helped me feel my best, while the functionality made it super easy to keep pumping parts safely in place. It’s compatible with collection cups, flanges, and wearables (I personally used it with my Spectra flanges, Willow wearable pump, and Elvie Curve collection cup). The convertible straps are easily adjustable, allowing you to switch between classic, racerback, or cross-back styles, which came in super handy when I had to pump wearing an evening gown at a friend’s wedding.
Expert designed to grow with your body and needs
These bras – and all of Bodily’s products for that matter – are so fantastic because they’re designed with experts. Sure, they’re super comfortable and look great, but they actually work and that’s what pregnant or nursing mamas really need. Every Bodily product is based on medical research and created with experts to ensure everything supports women as they need it, through big bodily changes like pregnancy, pregnancy loss, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and pumping. They’re designed with an IBCLC (that’s a certified lactation consultant for those who don’t know) to optimize for breastfeeding success and optimal breast health.
They’re designed with intention to make you feel amazing in your body, and give you the confidence you need to navigate through important life changes. It sounds silly to say, but despite stopping breastfeeding a year ago, I can’t give this bra up. It’s still as amazing as it was on day one, and it’s a little sentimental, too.
If you’re expecting, or know anyone who is, do yourself a favor and grab something from Bodily. In addition to our favorite holy grail bras, they’ve got a whole roundup of evidence-based and design-led essentials that help women feel good in their bodies, and support real life needs. We also love the All-In Panty ($16), which is great for those first few postpartum weeks including after a c-section, and the Always-On Nursing Tank ($58), made from the most incredibly buttery-soft fabric that practically melts into your skin. And for those who need a little extra prep in navigating all things parenthood, don’t miss Bodily’s incredible resources for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and beyond.
