Manicures have always been a tricky self-care practice for me to commit to on a regular basis. I always feel the most put together after a trip to the salon, but the time that it takes sadly isn’t feasible in my schedule. However, in recent years the at-home nail kit market has drastically evolved. With innovations that allow for easier polish applications, professional designs delivered right to your door, and minimalist nail appreciation too, I don’t know if I’ll be going to the salon for a long time. Read on for our favorite at-home nail kits for every manicure style.

Chill Tips
Chillhouse was created on the belief that every house can very well be a “chill home.” The brand is on a mission to show their community that spa-like experiences can be replicated and relished all within the comfort of their own homes. This sentiment reigns true with the On The Mend kit ($22.50). A crystal nail file helps to file, buff, and reshape nails – no matter their state. A deeply penetrating nail serum follows with a blend of jojoba seed oil, vitamin E, aloe leaf extract, and more to nourish nails back to their strongest state.
Following the chill nail treatment, Chill Tips ($16-$18) are some of the cutest manicure sets on the market. Whether you enjoy taking a risk with your nail color or pattern, or prefer to keep things simple, Chill Tips have you covered. Each kit includes 24 nails to help find a perfect fit, a dual-sided buffer +file, a cuticle stick, and gentle medical-grade nail glue. Love your design? You’re in luck! Chill Tips can be used again and again – who knew nails could be so sustainable?

Dry Gloss Manicure Kit
The days of needing to add a colored lacquer atop your nails to constitute a manicure are over. Bare Hands introduces a refreshing concept: kits that reveal and celebrate the healthiest version of the natural nail. Similar to the clean girl aesthetic popularized by Tik Tok, Bare Hands has taken the less-is-more approach when it comes to nail care with their Dry Gloss Manicure Kit ($42).
Packaged in a chic vegan leather case, Bare Hand’s nail kit comes with their signature polisher and citrine-scented cuticle oil, or opt out of any fragrance with the unscented oil option. The polisher's glass and mineral composition work synergistically to bind keratin cells, and once shined, the cuticle oil is applied to seal in moisture and protect against sun damage. The recommended usage suggests weekly polishes and cuticle oil as needed to deliver maximum shine.

Super Gels
Have you ever wished that you could drop off your nails at the salon and pick them up once your nail tech has perfected them? Well, now you *kind of* can thanks to Color Camp. Instead of “dropping your nails off,” Color Camp mails their customers a fresh set of nails as needed (yes, you read that right). After placing your first order for a set of custom hand-painted Super Gels ($44 - $66), Color Camp will mail you a try-on kit in addition to a personalized sizing form shared over email. The try-on kit comes with 10 different nail sizes in short, medium, and long lengths. The digital sizing form walks users through the measuring process and once completed with length and width preferences, can be sent back to Color Camp where they will begin crafting a made-to-order set.
To deliver salon results with at-home convenience, Color Camp adds a nail prep pad, nail file, buffer, wood stick, and nail glue to each purchase of custom Super Gels. The brand claims that a long-lasting manicure is all in the prep, so given the amount of care given to each application process, the manicure can last anywhere from five to ten days. What’s even better, each nail set can be re-worn 3+ times with proper care… talk about bang for your buck!

Mani System
The biggest roadblock that I’ve faced when trying my hand (pun intended) at an at-home manicure was the sheer fact that it’s difficult to get a good grip on the brush. This would always lead to shaky strokes, and ultimately a trip to my local salon after I’d given up. However, Olive and June tackled this problem head-on with the Poppy ($16). Poppy is a nail polish bottle topper that fits universally across various brands and bottle shapes. The device provides users with a comfortable grip for enhanced control and even stokes making at-home manicures appear professional.
Each Mani System (starting at $55) from Olive and June includes a Poppy, an award-winning cuticle serum, a clean-up brush, an acetone-free polish remover pot, straight-edge nail clippers, a nail buffer, a dual grit nail file, and a top coat. From there, customers are prompted to choose either one or six different nail polish colors, depending on their preference. All polishes are vegan and cruelty-free and are offered in long-lasting or quick dry formulas. The long-lasting polishes have a finish similar to gel, and promise to stay on nails for up to ten days, while the quick dry formula dries in about 60 seconds, yet has a shorter lifespan of about five days once applied.
I had fun with the interactive page where I was prompted to select my polish colors of choice. The opaque, shimmery, and glitter options were all showcased on multiple skin tones which were super helpful since I didn’t physically have my options in front of me. Add-ons such as a nail brightener, nail strengthener, nail primer, and matte top coat are available for an extra cost.

Kiss Before and After Kit
Tried and true, KISS has been a household cosmetic name since 1989. Their long-standing position in the beauty industry aids in the creation of countless nail products that you didn’t know you needed until you saw KISS had them. To prep for an at-home manicure, be sure to have the KISS Before and After Kit nearby ($7). The “before” pouch includes tools to prep natural nails for long-lasting press-on wear such as a mini file, puffer, prep pad, care tool for cuticles, and a care pad to remove excess glue from nails and skin. The “after” kit is there for when the false nails have had their fun and removes nails without damaging natural ones through the help of a nail file, buffer, care pad, “after” pad, and a removal tool.
