When you discover a brand that can serve as the foundation of your entire wardrobe, you take note. Founded by two brothers, ARNE began with two pieces inspired by Muhammad Ali’s classic track and field look: a slim-fit trouser and a crew neck. Based in the UK, that humble beginning was their launch pad into popularity with the young, cosmopolitan, style-conscious set. ARNE strikes me as what you’d see professional soccer players wearing when they’re not in training — quiet luxury with a kick.
The collection has since expanded to include more formal men’s pieces (think knit polos and tailored pants), footwear, denim, kids, and more. Alongside this expansion, ARNE is still a master of stylish casualwear with cargo pants (and shorts) to keep up with trends, as well as colored coordinated sets.
If that sounds like it covers all the bases, that’s because it does— and at their price point, that’s something to be appreciated. To give you an idea, a hefty puffer coat will only set you back $160, and jeans cost $62. With such reasonable price tags, I’ve started recommending all the men in my life turn to ARNE when they’re due for a closet overhaul. Read on to hear about my favorite pieces from their men’s collection.

First, A Word on Color Palette
A quick browse on the ARNE website will acquaint you with their signature colors. The go-to hues are navy, grey, black, olive, and white (with the occasional rust color thrown in). ARNE keeps it strictly within the colors Kendall Roy would wear — there are no flashy fuschias or teals to be found. The consistent color palette makes for effortless matching and you can guarantee that for any top you like, there will be an ARNE bottom to match.
The cargo short ($58) is available in six colors, including three shades of grey. I love this spectrum— stone, mid-grey, and grey (the darkest one, close to gunmetal)—because it acknowledges that not all shades are created equal. You’ll want to get these in multiple colors because they’re the perfect active-meets-everyday fabric and cut. The lightweight nylon has four-way stretch, which is perfect if you’re biking to brunch, but the crisp edges and slim fit ensure you won’t show up looking underdressed.

Activewear
For designated activewear, ARNE’s got you covered. Their Active & Performance section includes windbreakers, vests, and jersey tees, but my top pick in this made-to-sweat collection is the Active Short ($54). It hits right above the knee and features three pockets, including a zippered one to keep your items secure on a run. The elasticized waistband keeps you snug without feeling too tight—these will quickly become your favorite pair of workout shorts.

Shoes
ARNE’s footwear collection is constantly evolving. Choose from slip-on loafers, suede lace-ups, slide sandals, and more. With a wide selection of lifestyle and performance sneakers to peruse, including tennis and basketball-inspired designs, it was hard to narrow down just one pair to shout out. But while I love a clean, slim silhouette, I’ve been into the trendy chunkier look lately and the one that called to me was the Flex Runner ($150), which was also spotted on Wayne Rooney.
With a cushiony sole and a mix of textures, this fashionably heavy-duty sneaker will look great with any of ARNE’s track and field-inspired looks. It’s handcrafted from Italian premium leathers, suede, and mesh in Portugal — and clocks in under $200. For this price you wouldn’t expect such quality but the shoes deliver, plus they come well-packaged with a dust bag for the full luxury experience.

Layers
If you’ve seen the word “mercerized” before but never knew what it meant, now’s the time to learn. Mercerization is a fabric treatment process that puts the fibers under tension with caustic alkali to give the fabric extra strength and luster. It also reduces shrinkage and helps the fabric hold onto dye color. ARNE’s Mercerised Cotton T-shirt ($46) undergoes this process, which makes for excellent longevity because it can hold up to wear and tear while the shine finish continues looking brand new. You’ll love the slim fit and selection of nine colors (including burnt orange, steel blue, and sage.)

If you’ve ever been torn between a V-neck and a polo, this Cotton and Silk Knitted Revere Polo ($67) allows you to remain indecisive. It has a perfect, not-too-deep V and a ribbed waistband that cinches so you don’t accidentally channel the Untucked Golf Guy look. The sleeves are also ribbed and elasticized to show off the hard work you’ve been putting in at the gym. It falls nicely on shoulders and feels just formal enough to wear for button-down occasions, while the 10% silk composition will make you feel like you’re wearing luxe PJs.

A transitional season jacket is a must-have for any well-dressed man. You don’t want to be caught wearing a wrong-weight outer layer on drizzly days or humid-but-brisk nights. This Cargo Jacket ($71) is the perfect lightweight solution that will keep the chill off without overheating you. I’d pair it with chinos for a date, and if you’re into the tracksuit look, go for the Essential Trouser ($62) or the Relaxed Fit Jogger ($62) in coordinating navy.

Building Blocks for a Versatile Wardrobe
ARNE is a great brand to shop when you’re looking to reinvent your style or clear out old staples that have seen better days. It’s easy to assemble an all-season base wardrobe from their collection of crisp trousers and clean-cut polos. You can easily supplement with “statement” pieces from other brands, but if you have limited storage space, keeping it within the brand is a great way to ensure you have endless combos of coordinating outfits. As trends come and go, it’s easy to stay loyal to ARNE thanks to their great quality and price point.
