I’ve always considered myself a plant person. From an early age, I had an appreciation for nature, a love of lush landscapes, and an admiration for my mom’s garden and array of houseplants. But what I did not have was one crucial component for plant owners: a green thumb. Many years of optimistic visits to the nursery only to end up tossing out wilting and withered greenery would attest to that. Nonetheless, I continued to bring living things into my home, hoping for a horticultural miracle… only to witness their inevitable demise.
I tried to improve my plant parenting skills over the years, by providing them with optimal light, and even using apps to diagnose ailments. No such luck. But one company has actually given me hope — and aims to turn anyone into a certified plant pro. With organic plant wellness products that nourish and naturally help your plants not just grow but thrive, Arber is changing the greenery game, one healthy plant at a time.

REDEFINING PLANT CARE AS PLANT WELLNESS
Like me, Arber Founder and CEO Vanessa Dawson developed her affinity for gardening from her mother and grandmother. Years later, after purchasing her first home, she was ready to plant her garden and went to her local home improvement store in search of products. While an array of chemically driven options existed, she had difficulty finding safe, non-toxic, and effective gardening options. Recognizing this gap in the market, she got to work — and founded Arber in 2021.
While this brand is certainly all about helping your plants look better, it aims to go beyond the boundaries of normal garden and lawn care. Arber doesn’t just produce products, they consider themselves a "plant wellness company", with a holistic mission to make plant care safe, simple, and foolproof for all gardeners and spaces. Just like giving your children the right food and vitamins helps them grow and stay healthy, Arber is enabling plant parents to do the same for their leafy little ones.
NATURE + SCIENCE = HEALTHY PLANTS
At the root (pun intended) of Arber’s wellness mission is a combination of nature and smart science. Harnessing the power of naturally occurring elements called biologicals, Arber’s products claim to prevent disease and unwanted pests, while promoting health, growth, blooms, and abundance for almost any type of greenery. And unlike other products on the market, they only use organic and non-toxic ingredients derived from nature.
The company offers four unique organic plant care formulas, available to purchase as kits (from $30) or individual concentrates: Plant Food, Bio Insecticide, Bio Fungicide, and Bio Protectant (all $25). Each 16 oz. bottle of concentrate is equivalent to 64 plastic spray bottles, making it a powerful, space-saving, and sustainable option as well. While this all sounds appealing, it was time to put their plant wellness philosophy — and products — to the test on my barely-holding-on houseplants.
FEED YOUR PLANTS A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE (AND NUTRIENTS)
In an attempt to rescue my houseplants, I tried out the Organic Nutrition & Health Starter Set ($30), made up of Arber’s Organic Plant Food and Organic Bio Protectant. I figured this bestselling duo was my best bet at achieving plant wellness. I first tried the plant food, which is actually made from produce scraps and organic food waste! That waste is then treated with enzymes, which create complex nutrients in the form of a “ liquid compost”, and is an ideal form of energy for plants to improve roots, soil fertility, and leaf health.
Upon removing the seal and popping the product open, I noticed the concentrate has a look and consistency somewhere between chocolate syrup and motor oil, as well as a faint odor. I followed the directions on the package, gave it a vigorous shaking, and diluted 1 ounce with 32 ounces of water. I then added it to a spray bottle and applied it to the roots of my two houseplants (a droopy Monstera and Alocasia) as directed. I then went back every 10 days for a couple of weeks and reapplied. After a month had passed, I was indeed amazed. The leaves were greener and larger, the stems had a bit more pep, and they just appeared happier and healthier in general. I even noticed new leaves sprouting on both, which made me the proudest plant parent!
Then, for an extra dose of nutrients, I also gave both my plants a bit of the Organic Bio Protectant ($25). This concentrate has its own special ingredient to aid with plant health: knotweed, an invasive species that was fermented and extracted to create a hearty compound that protects and defends against ailments. (I also learned this concentrate can be used on cut Xmas trees to keep them healthy and prevent needle shedding!) My Alocasia had recently started sporting some mold on the soil, so I figured this concentrate would be a great way to tackle that issue. And sure enough, along with allowing the soil to dry out a bit more, the Bio Protecant got rid of the mold in a matter of days.
PROTECTING PLANTS, BIOLOGICALLY
I have to admit it, Arber had done the unthinkable — taken me from plant killer to plant caretaker! It can certainly do the same for anyone from an avid gardener to the downtrodden novice plant owner. Whatever Arber product you procure for your plants, the brand truly offers an effective and organic way to revitalize and invigorate any greenery. My thriving plants can definitely attest to that.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time for us all to embrace plant wellness, and get growing with Arber.
