Minimalists, I have a confession: there was a point in time where I thought a capsule wardrobe was absolutely ludicrous. A Fresh Concept For Your Closet
There was a time when direct-to-consumer brands felt particularly novel. These days there are so many out there, it can be hard for newcomers to really stand out. But Almina Concept has already made its mark on the fashion set, and for good reason. Founder Angela Gahng has deep roots in the fashion business. As an industry professional and consumer, she realized there were few brands offering high-quality, well-designed pieces at accessible prices. Everything was either too expensive or affordable but lacking in quality. There was room for brands with sophisticated design at accessible price points; Almina Concept was created to fill that space.
While it may no longer be novel, the DTC model is what allows the brand to make its mission possible. Designed in Los Angeles and made in Seoul, Almina Concept partners directly with factories and thus is able to offer sophisticated, well-made pieces at prices that feel fair. The selection is small and well-curated, with modern, minimal styles that are sure to become wardrobe staples. ALMINA IN REAL LIFE
I had spent more than enough time ogling at their website and brainstorming how I’d incorporate my new Almina Concept pieces into my rotation that when I came across the freshly-delivered package on my way out the door one evening I stopped in my tracks, ripped it open, and changed my outfit on the spot.
I picked out the Black Linen Pants ($148), Grey Classic Crew Cardigan ($168), and Black Tencel Vest ($148). And if you think black and grey don’t scream “summer,” you might be right – but that doesn’t mean I won’t be wearing these pieces all summer long. Like everything at Almina Concept, these hues are timeless.
The Linen Pants
For some reason it feels like the simplest pieces are often the hardest to find. I’ve wanted a great linen pant for months, but could’t find one that’s just right– until now. What I love most about these pants is the fit. It’s wonderful– the wide leg silhouette is roomy, flowy, but still structured enough to wear other places besides the beach.
I sized up in these pants for a more low-rise fit, which I do love the look of, but with that extra room they do have a tendency to slide down when I sit. Still, I know I will be wearing these all summer. They’re perfect for dressing up or down, making them a true summer staple.

The Cardigan
I’ve been searching for a grey cardigan for months and this version from Almina Concept checks all the boxes. The button-up fit has a casual sophistication about it. It brings a more tailored look which makes it work as a topper over more formal outfits just as well as an easy layer for everyday errand run outfits.
Material wise this feels well made. The buttons, though dainty themselves, are secure and the knit feels light but sturdy. With 40% merino wool, it still can be a bit itchy. The cardigan has a more fitted look, so I’d size up. You’ll still get the tailored look but it will be roomy enough for layering. Consensus on this piece is it’s a winner. I’ve probably already worn it once a week since it made its way into my closet.

The Vest
This is a piece I usually wouldn’t go for, but I loved how it looked online styled with the casual linen pants. In person, I think the pair goes together well too. The vest is comfortable, tailored, and fits true to size. I think the structured top looks great with a loose maxi skirt or distressed jean shorts, but it’s still a bit out of my comfort zone style wise. Will I ever truly get in on vests? Stay tuned.
